What is Kapatiran?
Kapatiran is a voluntary organization established in 1988 by the Tokyo Diocese of the Episcopal Church of Japan.
Based on the Christian spirit, people with foreign roots living in Japan
The purpose is to support people so that they can demonstrate the power they need to live a peaceful life.
History so far
1988: Started English services for Filipino women at Japanese Episcopal Church Tachikawa St. Patrick's Church
1991 1st Philippines Study Tour conducted
1994: Started counseling service in Tagalog, “Inochi no Denwa” and home visits.
1995 Stayed in Japan and started Filipino missionary service project in Japan
2nd Philippines Study Tour
2002 Started with a new structure as Kapatiran Steering Committee
2014: Ended counseling business for Filipino women
2015: Started supporting students and young people with roots not only in the Philippines but also in other countries.
Started providing scholarships to university students. Started a dinner party as a place to stay business
2017 Started providing scholarships to high school students
Celebrating 30th anniversary of establishment in 2018
2019 Philippine homestay program implemented with lease and coin subsidy
2020: Launch of Philippine Homestay Program as a new business
2023
